WARSAW — A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening in the town of Magnuszew, Kozienice County in eastern Poland, killing three people and leaving another two injured.

Local media outlet the Polish Press Agency (PAP) reported that a 42-year-old driver, allegedly intoxicated, struck a total of five pedestrians in two groups. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third succumbed to injuries later at the hospital.

The driver has been detained and remains in police custody. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
