ISLAMABAD — Seven terrorists were killed in separate operations by the security forces in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southwest Balochistan provinces over the last three days, the country’s military said on Friday.

One operation was launched during the early hours of Friday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on the reported presence of terrorists, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

During the operation, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, killing three and injuring two others.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous militant activities against security forces and civilians, the statement added.

Four more terrorists were killed in three separate operations in Awaran, Dera Bugti, and Kech districts of Balochistan over the last three days, the ISPR said in another statement.

The troops launched all three operations on receiving a tip-off regarding the presence of the militants at the targeted sites.

The killed terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians and were highly wanted by law enforcement agencies, the statement added.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR said.
