GAZA — At least 16 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on a residential home and a vehicle in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said on Friday.
Local Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes targeted the home of the “Dheir” family in the Sobah area, north of Rafah city.
The airstrike killed 13 people, including children and women, and several others were injured, according to medical sources.
In Gaza City, Palestinian security sources said that Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle near the Abbas intersection west of the city, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a child.
The Israeli side has not commented on the incidents.
Israel has been conducting a large-scale offensive against Hamas in Gaza in response to a Hamas assault along the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and around 250 hostages taken.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza has exceeded 41,000, with more than 90 percent of the Gazans being displaced.
