TEHRAN — One was killed and three others injured in a huge gas explosion on Tuesday at a residential building in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran, Iran’s IRIB news agency reported.
The blast occurred at 7:30 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) in Babolsar County, destroying three housing units and damaging a number of the nearby buildings, the report said.
It identified the victim as a 50-year-old man, who was thrown out of his apartment on the third floor into the street due to the blast. The injured included another 50-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl.
The IRIB said the explosion occurred due to natural gas leakage, adding the cause of the incident was under investigation.
