MANILA, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) — Two suspected rebels have been killed in a clash with government soldiers in Iloilo province in the central Philippines, the military said Friday.
The military said the two female New People’s Army rebels were killed during a 10-minute firefight on Thursday in Lambunao town. No government soldier was wounded or killed in the fighting.
The military added that troops recovered six firearms, including three M16 assault rifles, an M79 grenade launcher, a 7.62mm assault rifle, and a shotgun with assorted ammunition.
