NEW DELHI — Five doctors died and one was seriously injured in a road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh early Wednesday, confirmed a local police officer.

The victims were returning from a colleague’s wedding in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Aged between 30 and 45 years, all of them were employed at a government hospital in Saifai area, located along the Agra-Lucknow expressway.

According to the police, the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, rammed into the road divider and finally collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
